ENCTR Dev Log #1

Welcome everyone to the first of many dev logs for the ENCTR web application. In these weekly updates I hope to keep all of our followers updated on what’s going on with the development, and the work that’s taking place on the engineering side of things. These will generally be pretty quick overviews, but will be important in keeping the community up to date on what can sometimes be opaque development work.

What We’re Working On

There’s a lot going on, but the most exciting development is the official start of the Battlescape module. For those that don’t know, Battlescape is our Esports wagering module, and one of the key pieces of utility in the ENCTR ecosystem. It's a fully fledged odds & outcomes platform, and is being redesigned with our new design system, ENCTR U.I.

We’re still quite early in the formal development, but we’ve had lots of internal communications and planning going on behind the scenes. This puts us in the best position to make quick progress and start to beta test as soon as possible.

For those interested in diving deeper, we’ve had some great content put out by our head of design where he walks through some of the design decisions and screens for the module. Highly recommend that you check that out if you want to learn more about the direction of the module.

We’ll be posting more each week on the Battlescape’s progress, so stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.

Outside of Battlescape, we’ve been diligently working to improve and add features to the existing finance features of the application. We’ve gotten a ton of great feedback from our users, and have been working to push those updates in. For a full list of what went live this week, check out the changelog at the end of this article.

We’re also working on building multi-language support into the application. With crypto being a global technology, we have a user base that spans multiple countries. With such a diverse user base, we want to do what we can to provide the easiest experience for everyone. We’ll have more details on when this will go live, along with which languages we intend to initially support, very soon.

Our Beta

Lastly, I wanted to touch briefly on our beta plan. We’ve created a separate cut of the app located at: beta.enctr.gg

This will be our primary location for testing and for those that want to play around with the app without using real money. Crypto can be insanely confusing for newcomers, so by providing a test location we hope to make it easier to onboard into our ecosystem.

We’ll be providing more details on what updates are in beta and what new features you can test as we roll them out. To stay up to date on those developments, head on over to our discord. We sometimes also offer incentives for early adopters that help with our beta testing, so you definitely don’t want to miss that.

That’s all for this week's log. Check back next week as we’ll be diving a bit more into the UI work going on in the Battlescape world.
